Bio
Born in northern Germany, Christiane Ram pursued studies in political economy and economic geography at the University of Hamburg. Her professional journey began in 1990 with the City of Hamburg, where she served as a researcher focusing on port development and infrastructure within the economic department. This role was followed by leadership positions overseeing the craft sector, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) responsibilities, and the city’s start-up initiatives.
Since 2012, Christiane has been the Head of the Department of Economic and Structural Development for the City of Mannheim. This role has been one of the most fulfilling and inspiring chapters of her career, offering the opportunity to collaborate with visionary individuals, support innovative projects, and implement ideas that improve both economic and social well-being.
