Alexandra van der Ploeg is SAP’s Global Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In this capacity, she is entrusted with shaping the strategic direction of SAP’s CSR initiatives, aimed at fulfilling the company’s overarching purpose of “helping the world run better and improving people’s lives.” She does this through strategic partnerships and programs that yield both sustainable social impact and long-term business value. Alexandra also manages corporate giving, employee engagement, and the development of multi-stakeholder partnerships, an area for which she has a special affinity.
Joining SAP in 1999, Alexandra initially took on a role in SAP Switzerland, focusing on management development. Over the next decade, she transitioned through various managerial roles within the Human Resources department. In 2010, she moved to the CSR organization and has since been responsible for developing and managing multiple global CSR programs. These include establishing an infrastructure for social business in Haiti and creating various pro-bono consulting programs, such as the SAP Social Sabbatical Portfolio.
Beyond her role at SAP, Alexandra co-chairs the Corporate Leadership Council of WEF’s Global Alliance for Social Entrepreneurship and serves on the Global Leadership Council of Generation Unlimited. She holds an MBA from Henley Business School in Great Britain.
