Bio
Born in 1978 in Frankenthal (Rhineland-Palatinate), he studied geography and earned a diploma in economic geography.
He has been the Communal economic development officer in St. Georgen in the Black Forest since 2006 and the economic development officer at the City of Mannheim since 2012 with a focus on start-up consulting and support for start-ups. Since 2019, Matthias established the Social Economy target group at the City of Mannheim’s Economic Development Agency, since 2022 he’s been the head of the newly created Social Economy Cluster Mannheim. The cluster’s tasks are to set up and operate a regional support system for social entrepreneurship.
His key achievements include managing the conception and realization of the European Social Economy Summit in Mannheim, leading the state-wide business start-up voucher program for social entrepreneurs in Baden-Württemberg, and fostering partnerships and collaboration within local, national, and European networks to promote the social economy.
