Check for international flights to Frankfurt Airport (FRA), Germany’s largest international airport, which is located approximately 70 kilometres from Mannheim. Frankfurt Airport offers a wide range of international connections and is one of the busiest airports in Europe.

Once you arrive in Frankfurt, you have several options to reach Mannheim. One of the most convenient options is by train, which departs directly from Frankfurt Airport’s long-distance train station.

We highly recommend taking a direct Intercity-Express (ICE) train from Frankfurt Airport to Mannheim Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station). The travel time is approximately 30 minutes, and trains run frequently throughout the day.

The bus ride takes around 1 hour and the cost of a one-way ticket is usually €17.99 per person (depending on how early you book). You can purchase tickets at the station or via the Deutsche Bahn website or app. The bus departs in front of the airport terminal (Busbahnhof).

Alternatively, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, you can opt for the FlixBus service from Frankfurt Airport to Mannheim ZOB (Central Bus Station), located right next to Mannheim Main Station. The FlixBus ticket is generally cheaper, around 8-10€, depending on the time and how early you book. We strongly recommend booking your ticket in advance to ensure availability.
