Mannheim, Germany

Situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Neckar rivers, Mannheim is a key economic and cultural hub in the Baden-Württemberg region. The city is renowned for its innovation, particularly in engineering and social entrepreneurship, making it the perfect host for the SIA Summit 2024.
Travel to Mannheim
Please keep in mind that all participants are in charge of making their travel arrangements to reach Mannheim.
How to get from the airport to the Main Railway station (Mannheim Hauptbahnhof)?
To reach Mannheim from Frankfurt Airport (FRA), the easiest option is to travel by bus (please mind that due to ongoing construction work affecting the train routes the direct trains between Frankfurt Airport and Mannheim Main Station are currently not running).
There is a direct replacement bus service running every 30 minutes between Frankfurt Airport and Mannheim Busbahnhof (Main Railway Station). The bus ride takes around 1 hour and the cost of a one-way ticket is usually €17.99 per person (depending on how early you book). You can purchase tickets at the Deutsche Bahn counter or via the Deutsche Bahn website or app. The bus departs in front of the airport terminal (Fernbahnhof).
How to get from the Frankfurt Airport to the Fernbahnhof?
As there is some ongoing construction at the moment and you might get confused, you can find the detailed information below:
1. Exit the Airport Terminal.
2. You will see the construction site right in front of you, look for the Fernbanhof sign (Train Station).
3. You enter the building across the Airport Terminal, take the escalator to the first floor.
4. Look for the Fernbanhof sign (once you arrive on the 1st floor, you turn right and walk straight to the very end, until you see the Deutsche Bahn Ticket office and Information).
5. Buy tickets there, exit the building and the bus stop is right there (there is only one bus departing from there and it goes directly to Mannheim).
Once you arrive in Mannheim, you can easily access Uber, taxis and public transportation, or even walk to your hotel (Walking to the hotel only applies to those who stay at Hotel Bismarck). To explore more about the hotel location, please scroll down this page.
We suggest that you share an Uber, the approximate price is around 10 €.
If you travel by train:
For arrivals from Frankfurt Main Railway Station (Hauptbahnhof) to Mannheim Main Railway Station, you can take a direct Regional Express (RE) or InterCity Express (ICE) train to Mannheim. Tickets can be bought at the station or online via the Deutsche Bahn website or app. The trains depart frequently, and the journey takes around 1-1.5 hours. The cost of a one-way ticket typically ranges between 20-30 EUR, depending on how early you book.
As a more budget-friendly option, you can opt for the FlixBus service from Frankfurt Main Railway Station (Hauptbahnhof) to Mannheim ZOB (Central Bus Station), located right next to Mannheim Main Station. A one-way ticket costs around 7-10€, depending on the time and how early you book. We strongly recommend booking your ticket in advance to ensure availability.
